I arrived in Okinawa with only 1,000 pounds of personal belongings. I had such a memorable experience findings things for my home. This includes gadgets. Functionality is a big component of Japanese goods, as they are very environmentally conscious compared to America. For example, they will make a product and then sell refills so the waste is less. I found this approach to be refreshing and convenient. Here are some of the things I bought (big and small) that I enjoyed and treasured. I will save food for another post.

This is a tenugui I bought in yokohama. I purchased them in every city I traveled to and they are roughly between a few dollars (USD) to about 12 dollars depending on various factors. I started collecting them and framing them. I purchased the frames on Amazon Japan.

This is actually meant to be hung on a rod but I framed it. It is Osaka Castle, which I really enjoyed visiting. It is easy to find somple treasures and make them into everyday decor that will provide joy and smiles as well as fond memories.
This is the first one I bought. This is Kinkakuji (golden pavilion) in Kyoto. I visited there in November 2023.
